Read what students who have taken private and group classes in person and on Zoom think of Andy’s Accent Reduction method

I taught Nellie, from Russia, in 5 in person classes at my studio, and the other 5, done on Skype. Nellie lives in Vancouver.

“I can`t thank enough Andy Krieger for his amazing teaching of an accent reduction course. Before I didn't know that so many details involved, as positions of tong and lips, rhythm of speaking without clamping words and sentences, breath , correct pronunciation of syllables and consonant in words, speaking slowly at the beginning of course and making your voice go down and etc. I was surprised, how all these things with the right guidance of Andy Krieger and your commitment and practicing make your voice sound American or Canadian English! We divided my private accent reduction course by some of the classes in Andy Krieger residence area and the rest of them in Skype. Which is so convenient, you don’t need to spend your time on the road, just turn on your computer and you have a class room at your place. It makes no difference at all, Andy Krieger organized it with all you need, video stream of himself with the right position of speaking, full screen of exercises and examples or textbook pages, and at the same time he can see you, it’s all simple and feels like in person class! One of the Skype classes my husband was sitting next to me and he was impressed, he said that I sound American English and my Russian accent goes away! I`ve been talking to a lot of Canadians lately, and they tell me that I`m easier to understand and they can hear my Russian accent only if I speak really fast and because of it can make some mistakes, I know at the beginning I should be more patient, but I just so excited that I can speak without an accent! Thank you very much, Andy Krieger!.”

Hi Andy,

I'd be happy to provide some comments about our classes! The sessions are incredibly engaging and have been tremendously helpful for my pronunciation and confidence. Your feedback is always practical and motivating - particularly your guidance on pronunciation, delivery, use of pauses, and positioning for long vowels, which has helped me sound more thoughtful and natural.

Each class is thoughtfully structured with practical improvement tips that genuinely boost my confidence and skills. The material you choose is engaging, and your personal encouragement means so much to me. I truly enjoy attending and always look forward to each session.

I think anyone interested in the program would find your teaching style as encouraging and effective as I have. Please feel free to share these thoughts with your prospective student.

Looking forward to tonight's class!

Best regards,
Renee

I taught Daniel in a Speaking Effective group class. Daniel was born in Canada. He changed in a few classes from being a very mediocre speaker, to an outstanding one.

“Hi Andy, I took the Speaking Effectively class to gain some knowledge in the subject so that I could apply it to my upcoming life coaching career. I find myself not being able to speak effectively as people don't seem to be too interested when I speak. Things have changed now. By utilizing Andy's techniques, my audience has paid more attention to me and I'm truly grateful for this. I told an associate of mine from Toronto about Andy's course and she wants to take once the life coaching course is over. The cost of the course is insignificant in terms of what you get out of it, as long as you practice it on a daily basis. The recording of the class was felt awkward at first, but I soon realized what the benefit of it was. Thank you Andy for sharing with me your techniques. It will be a tool that I will be using everyday to speak effectively.

Hi Andy,

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while now, and I’m really glad I finally am.

I first took your Accent Reduction sessions last year when I was a G5 cohort student at A2SV. Back then, my friends and I had no idea how much the way we spoke affected how people perceived us. We just… talked. We were always trying to get to the point as fast as possible, without really thinking about how we were saying things. We didn’t realize that pronunciation, tone, or delivery could make the difference between sounding unsure and sounding like we really knew our stuff, even when we did know what we were talking about.

Then your sessions started.

At first, it felt weird. Honestly, it felt unnatural to speak the way you were teaching us. But you kept reminding us that feeling was normal, and that it meant we were growing. You were so patient, encouraging, and detailed that we had to keep coming back again and again, on time, just to keep improving. Slowly but surely, we began noticing how much our speaking was holding us back, especially in interviews. I remember thinking, “If only we had learned this earlier…”

Your sessions changed everything. They were interactive, diverse, and honestly eye-opening. I started noticing how I spoke and even how others spoke. It made me realize how much we all had to unlearn and improve.

Six months later, I landed my first job as Head of Education for the G6 Cohort at A2SV. I aced both my technical and behavioral interviews, not just because I had the right answers, but because I could finally communicate those answers clearly and confidently. A2SV gave me the skills. You helped me showcase them. That made all the difference.

Now, I’m lucky enough to be taking your sessions again and even though it’s my second round, I’m still learning so much. I keep catching little habits and mistakes I didn’t even realize were still there. That’s what’s so powerful about your teaching: it keeps giving. Even when you think you’ve nailed it, you discover another layer to improve.

So thank you, Andy. Truly. Thank you for your time, your patience, your passion, and for the impact you’ve made, not just on me, but on so many others before me, and definitely many more to come.

And thank you to Emre as well, for always making sure we have access to everything we need from day one. It really means a lot.

Warmly,
Mikiyas

“Dear Andy, Here is my feedback re the accent reduction course you’ve taught us yesterday and today at DiverseCity. The information we’ve received was very helpful. I’ve witnessed all co-students to improve dramatically. I liked you style of teaching, the way you’ve taught us. I liked very much the technical means you’ve used to make us progress, i.e. monitors, mirrors, straws, flashlight, timer etc. I liked that we were able to listen to the recorded examples of good and bad speaking. I liked that it was never boring. You made the study interesting and spiced it up with your excellent sense of humor. I liked the printed materials you’ve provided. It’s a great idea of yours to record a DVD with all the students in the classroom.

Shaping our answers for an interview was very helpful. It was amazing to hear other students in the group to give their wonderful intelligent well thought answers in a manner that sounded so good and so different compared to the old way of careless pronunciation. Thank you!.”

“You are a great instructor.” This is a compliment from a colleague – I used to teach German in St.Petersburg’s Centre for intensive studies of foreign languages. It was a privilege to be your student.

“Hi, Andy: Just a short note to thank you for the time you spent with me this Sunday, the 13th of February. Although I have been comfortable with my knowledge of the English grammar, I find that my regionalistic accent gets in the way of effectively communicating with my native American customers. Your methodology of teaching has greatly improved my pronunciation and enunciation in a short period of time. The “Krieger Method” which emphasizes the positioning of lips, tongue, and mouth before a word is uttered or pronounced has tremendously impacted the manner I speak. I thought this method was a valuable tool to those who would like to better their way of verbal communication. I would not hesitate to recommend you and your method to anybody who wants to reduce, if not totally eliminate, his or her foreign accent.

Again, thank you, Andy, for everything!

Dear Mr. Krieger, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. My host conveyed the message that you had called me and you told her how well I had done in the class. Thanks for the affirmation!

“CLASS EVALUATION

The Accent Reduction Class of Mr. Krieger, though, conducted only four times, is an excellent refresher session for speakers of English as a second language. It satisfies the 3 modes of learning: Cognitive-theoretical inputs on speech development; psychomotor-actual practical learning on uttering appropriately various words in a way that is comprehensive on the part of the receiver of the message; and affective-appreciating the art of mingling and learning from the class trainer and classmates.

The utilization of audio-visual technology makes the teaching-learning very effective.

Heathir Rhyasen, A Canadian who learned how to teach the K Method Feb 2012

“Thank you Andy,

You are such an amazing teacher, I could learn from you forever. I am practicing with my hand in the mirror. Feel a bit silly but it is working. Thank you again for your encouragement and your wonderful teachings. I learn so much about many things from you. I am tremendously excited about this work and hope that I can be an effective and supportive teacher.

Looking forward to the next class.

Heathir was part of a small group learning to teach Accent Reduction, with Manjit. Nov 2011-Feb 2012

Thank you Andy. Last night's class was amazing especially when Heather and I got to sit in the "hot seat". We actually got a feel for wha It’s like to listen to students and teach/correct Sonia with her accent. I know I was kind of reluctant at first but after a few minutes, I was very comfortable.

I look forward to meeting with you in January.

“All I can say is .....WOW! Andy is an amazing individual as well as a Trainer.

To tell you the truth, I had my doubts about this entire thing before starting, I thought we were being sent to some dungeon looking bsmt suite in But after meeting Andy for 5 mins, I knew this was going to go very well.

I am very excited. Heather and I are going on Monday. Can't wait!”

Jenna Li from China – part of a group class Jan/Feb 2012I look forward to meeting with you in January.

“I am taking an Accent Reduction class, which is the most enjoyable class I have never had. My teacher, Mr. Krieger is very patient and humorous. For instance, one student couldn't pronounced the word, "For" correctly after some practice. Mr. Krieger tried to teach this student face to face. Also he tried to use many other words to help him again and again until he knew the correct mouth position. Furthermore, during the class, Mr. Krieger tells jokes in order to keep the class awake…”

Ivan Zelentsov, Russian Doctor in Vancouver Canada – private class Feb 17 2012

“My expectations were quite high because I've heard a lot about your program. But the real life even exceeded them. Teaching method is very impressive as well. It's well structured and one can see hours of work and preparation behind every word. Since nicely made Power Point presentation the concepts were easy to understand. Camera and TV monitor helped a lot as well. By the end of the class I had a feeling that I almost lost my accent. And, which is even more important for me, I felt more confident.

Ideas behind this program are brilliant, but they worth not much without good teaching skills. I have some experience in this field and I have to admit that you are doing a great job! I am very impressed.”

Sam. (Egyptian living in Maryland) took 10 one hour classes on SKYPE Feb 2012

“First, I was skeptical to have an accent reduction class through Skype.

However, as soon as I started our first class I become confident that you will be able to help me. I was told over and over that my accent is the biggest obstacle for me to advance at work. However, your understanding, your easy way to train, your patience with practice makes a lot of fun. I really enjoyed when we get to talk in any subject and you make me repeat the sentences over and over until it becomes acceptable. Moreover, I am now able to distinguish between the time I speak with accent and the time I don't. Finally, I was with my wife the other day and we went to Taco bell and order through the drive through. Now, I was always had to repeat the order because of my accent. This time, my wife who is American was surprised and she said I spoke more clearly than her.”

Taught Maria on Skype winter 2011/2012

“ I took all my classes using Skype and it works perfect, he was correcting me as soon as I was doing a mistake, he was putting the camera close to his mouth to be sure I was getting the right position of my tongue an lips. He used power point presentations and doing free conversation to improve the technique.

It was nice to know that even if he was in Canada and I was in Phoenix, I still could take the class without waiting for the opportunity for him to come to phoenix. He tried to fit my schedule with his schedule to have the class when we both were available.

I like he put extra attention in the words I was having more problems to pronounce correctly and each class he was correcting me to pronounce them the correct way. Before the class I did not know I was doing those mistakes, but now I know and I correct myself each time I do. Definitely worth it!

Thank you Andy,”
