I can`t thank enough Andy Krieger for his amazing teaching of an accent reduction course. Before I didn't know that so many details involved, as positions of tong and lips, rhythm of speaking without clamping words and sentences, breath , correct pronunciation of syllables and consonant in words, speaking slowly at the beginning of course and making your voice go down and etc. I was surprised, how all these things with the right guidance of Andy Krieger and your commitment and practicing make your voice sound American or Canadian English! We divided my private accent reduction course by some of the classes in Andy Krieger residence area and the rest of them in Skype. Which is so convenient, you don’t need to spend your time on the road, just turn on your computer and you have a class room at your place. It makes no difference at all, Andy Krieger organized it with all you need, video stream of himself with the right position of speaking, full screen of exercises and examples or textbook pages, and at the same time he can see you, it’s all simple and feels like in person class! One of the Skype classes my husband was sitting next to me and he was impressed, he said that I sound American English and my Russian accent goes away! I`ve been talking to a lot of Canadians lately, and they tell me that I`m easier to understand and they can hear my Russian accent only if I speak really fast and because of it can make some mistakes, I know at the beginning I should be more patient, but I just so excited that I can speak without an accent! Thank you very much, Andy Krieger!

Hi Andy,
I took the Speaking Effectively class to gain some knowledge in the subject so that I could apply it to my upcoming life coaching career. I find myself not being able to speak effectively as people don't seem to be too interested when I speak. Things have changed now. By utilizing Andy's techniques, my audience has paid more attention to me and I'm truly grateful for this. I told an associate of mine from Toronto about Andy's course and she wants to take once the life coaching course is over. The cost of the course is insignificant in terms of what you get out of it, as long as you practice it on a daily basis. The recording of the class was felt awkward at first, but I soon realized what the benefit of it was. Thank you Andy for sharing with me your techniques. It will be a tool that I will be using everyday to speak effectively.
Can you send me the link for video 5.
Thanks,

Dear Andy, Here is my feedback re the accent reduction course you’ve taught us yesterday and today at DiverseCity.
The information we’ve received was very helpful. I’ve witnessed all co-students to improve dramatically. I liked you style of teaching, the way you’ve taught us. I liked very much the technical means you’ve used to make us progress, i.e. monitors, mirrors, straws, flashlight, timer etc. I liked that we were able to listen to the recorded examples of good and bad speaking. I liked that it was never boring. You made the study interesting and spiced it up with your excellent sense of humor. I liked the printed materials you’ve provided. It’s a great idea of yours to record a DVD with all the students in the classroom.
Shaping our answers for an interview was very helpful. It was amazing to hear other students in the group to give their wonderful intelligent well thought answers in a manner that sounded so good and so different compared to the old way of careless pronunciation. Thank you!
You are a great instructor. This is a compliment from a colleague – I used to teach German in St.Petersburg’s Centre for intensive studies of foreign languages. It was a privilege to be your student.

Hi, Andy: Just a short note to thank you for the time you spent with me this Sunday, the 13th of February. Although I have been comfortable with my knowledge of the English grammar, I find that my regionalistic accent gets in the way of effectively communicating with my native American customers. Your methodology of teaching has greatly improved my pronunciation and enunciation in a short period of time. The “Krieger Method” which emphasizes the positioning of lips, tongue, and mouth before a word is uttered or pronounced has tremendously impacted the manner I speak. I thought this method was a valuable tool to those who would like to better their way of verbal communication. I would not hesitate to recommend you and your method to anybody who wants to reduce, if not totally eliminate, his or her foreign accent.
Again, thank you, Andy, for everything!

CLASS EVALUATION
The Accent Reduction Class of Mr. Krieger, though, conducted only four times, is an excellent refresher session for speakers of English as a second language. It satisfies the 3 modes of
learning: Cognitive-theoretical inputs on speech development; psychomotor-actual practical learning on uttering appropriately various words in a way that is comprehensive on the part of the receiver
of the message; and affective-appreciating the art of mingling and learning from the class trainer and classmates.
The utilization of audio-visual technology makes the teaching-learning very effective.

I am taking an Accent Reduction class, which is the most enjoyable class I have never had. My teacher, Mr. Krieger is very patient and humorous. For instance, one student couldn't pronounced the word, "For" correctly after some practice. Mr. Krieger tried to teach this student face to face. Also he tried to use many other words to help him again and again until he knew the correct mouth position. Furthermore, during the class, Mr. Krieger tells jokes in order to keep the class awake… Jenna Li from China – part of a group class Jan/Feb 2012

My expectations were quite high because I've heard a lot about your program. But the real life even exceeded them. Teaching method is very impressive as well. It's well structured and one can see hours of work and preparation behind every word. Since nicely made Power Point presentation the concepts were easy to understand. Camera and TV monitor helped a lot as well. By the end of the class I had a feeling that I almost lost my accent. And, which is even more important for me, I felt more confident.
Ideas behind this program are brilliant, but they worth not much without good teaching skills. I have some experience in this field and I have to admit that you are doing a great job! I am very impressed.

First, I was skeptical to have an accent reduction class through Skype.
However, as soon as I started our first class I become confident that you will be able to help me. I was told over and over that my accent is the biggest obstacle for me to advance at work. However, your understanding, your easy way to train, your patience with practice makes a lot of fun. I really enjoyed when we get to talk in any subject and you make me repeat the sentences over and over until it becomes acceptable. Moreover, I am now able to distinguish between the time I speak with accent and the time I don't. Finally, I was with my wife the other day and we went to Taco bell and order through the drive through. Now, I was always had to repeat the order because of my accent. This time, my wife who is American was surprised and she said I spoke more clearly than her. Sam. (Egyptian living in Maryland)

He used power point presentations and doing free conversation to improve the technique.
It was nice to know that even if he was in Canada and I was in Phoenix, I still could take the class without waiting for the opportunity for him to come to phoenix. He tried to fit my schedule with his schedule to have the class when we both were available.
I like he put extra attention in the words I was having more problems to pronounce correctly and each class he was correcting me to pronounce them the correct way. Before the class I did not know I was doing those mistakes, but now I know and I correct myself each time I do. Definitely worth it!

I said the same sentence just like I speak regularly first and then speaking just one or two words at the time. I then asked her if she noticed a difference and she said: "yes, I can heard you had a significant reduction of your accent the second time, when you spoke slowly".
It is hard to speak slowly and really think about the correct positions of my tongue and lips but I think it worth it.

Hi Andy,
It was a great pleasure to have your class. I enjoyed it very much.
I could feel the changes. The 5 steps, especially the positions of tongue, are exactly what I need. The position of tongue, lips & teeth is the main reason of accent. You didn't just teach the method, you pointed out the right direction of speaking English in a right way. Now I am pretty confident to get rid of the accent by keeping on practicing, because I know I am on the right way. I like how you teach, including multimedia (camera, ppt, TV), tomato, tennis ball, etc. I shared something with my wife. She thought it's great. Thank you Andy. I will work hard on practicing and give you more feedback in the future. Appreciate.

Why I enjoyed Andy’s class so much? Oh I could list up pages of reasons that why Andy’s class is so enjoyable and helpful.
But the thing I really want to say, above all his extremely professionalism and extraordinary concrete experience in accent teaching, the important reason makes Andy so distinguished from somebody else is, he is the instructor who really cares about his students. Andy truly understands the frustration and struggle of those
people who come to him. And he is willing to share with all of his expertise without any reservation and help his students wholeheartedly.
Andy is a strict teacher, which I like a lot. He will never let you leave his class if he finds out any single syllable in your accent is less than perfect. Andy always reminds me of Lionel Logue in The King’s Speech, who is a relentlessly
hard teacher, but a kind and a trustworthy friend. If some day in the future, that you are doing great because of your wise decision to take the class with Andy, I believe he will be the happiest one to hear about your success.

Dear Andy,
I am writing this email to express my deep satisfaction with your method.
Years ago, in the era of racism, people of society were classified based on different skin colors. Nowadays, we have almost the same kind of discrimination based on different accents. I would like to call this new way of discrimination, Accentism. Considering the magnitude of this problem, we can better understand the value of your efforts.
Accentism is a tremendous social barrier for every immigrant. Personally, I decided to face and overcome this challenge. I have gone through ALL educational materials related to pronunciation and accent reduction in the Vancouver Public Library. Some of them are really useful and some others are quite boring. But your method is really a feat. It is something else, completely different: Simple, practical, friendly and unbelievably efficient. The first half an hour that I spent on your method was a milestone in my life.
I should thank you for invention of this absolutely practical method and sharing that with others.
Sincerely,
Ahmad Andy taught Ahmad, from Iran, in a 3 hour private class, Nov. 2011
This is one of the most inspiring self-improvement lessons I have ever attended. I didn’t know that slowing down my speech can dramatically reduce my accent. Now I practice the new way of speaking English everyday in my work place. My co-workers gave my kind of funny look in the first few days but later on they told me that my Asian accent has been reduced significantly. Although sometimes they may request me in a nice way to speed up my conversation a bit when time is tight.
I understand pausing gives us time to position our mouth, lips and tongue before we speak so that we can pronounce more accurately. After we have fully mastered our positioning, I guess we could speed up a little bit during our daily conversation.

It is a great idea that you have set up the camera & TV, it help me to see how I should put tongue and lips. It also gave me chance to learn not to make the same mistake that the other student has made.
The DVDs you sent to me after each class are a great reminder for me on the mistakes I have done during the class and how to avoid them. I loved the class last Saturday. It was so helpful. Your method of accent reduction is amazing. I saw the huge improvement when our classmates following your instruction in the class. They sounded so good and very local, totally different from their own way of speaking English. I will follow your method as much as I can to reduce my accent.
The video is a very good tool in the class because we can see those movie stars that don't speak English at all can actully speak English in the movies by following your instruction. And it's fun too. The camera and LCD projector helped a lot because we can review the DVD and continue to improve after the class.

Hi Andy,
This accent reduction class helped me to realize that accent could be a real barrier between people. I learned today that speaking slower and breathing properly help to pronounce words in a better
way. This class was a great introduction to the technique of pronunciation. I think using videos, tapes and mirrors help to compare, adjust and correct pronunciation. I wish this class was longer. A

Subject: Lucky to be in your Speaking Effectively Class!
Hi Andy,
I have been lucky to be one of your growing numbers of confident accent free students.
I have had frustrating days where co-workers do not understand what I am saying. I even went to the extent of spelling the words so they understand what I
mean.
After the Accent Reduction Class last March 2011, I wanted to learn more from you. I am currently attending the Speaking Effectively Class ( September 2011) at Moscrop.
My job requires me to communicate with team members in my department on a daily basis. I have had hard times keeping their attention before.
Now, they look forward to our daily team huddles where they give me their undivided attention.
I am looking forward to our next class where I will deliver the speech I wrote.
I highly recommend the Accent Reduction class and Speaking Effectively Class that you teach to anyone who has difficulties communicating effectively.
Thank you for everything.

Speaking More Effectively classes Fall 2011
I'm really fascinated about how simple it is. I've taken other pronunciation courses that overwhelmed me and never went back to them.
You have decoded the language's mysteries in a simple way. The consonant groupings are fantastic, you only have to remember 10 possibilities.
Keep the good work Andy. Canada is a country of so many accents and they are keeping us behind. We need your help. Aurora Almeida June-01-08

Thank you so much for your teaching today. The course was amazing. Before the lesson, I did not know that I have so
many problems speaking in English. Thank you for your patient to correct my problems. I will definitely practice more with your learning kits. Hopefully, I could really get rid of my accent and be
able to speak more clearly.
During the last few years, I have lot of chances to work with other HSBC colleagues globally. I find that I could
communicate with US/UK colleagues without much problem. But for India team, I really had a hard time to understand what they are saying. I think it would be beneficial for us to have this kind of
training earlier. This could have made our life much easier. But anyhow, it is still good to meet you in HK today. I am glad to be chosen for this useful training course.

When I came to the US from Poland, my skill in English was very limited. I could only ask “excuse me, where is the bathroom?” That was pretty much the only thing I knew at that point.
Now, 11 years later I speak English fairly well and have been working very hard at it. However, I still have a pretty heavy Polish/Russian accent.
It always bothered me that a few seconds into a new conversation someone would ask me “are you Russian?”
After about 3-4 years of being here, I just stopped caring and started answering, “sure, I am” but it still bothers me that I couldn’t even say “hi” properly.
I was always really bad with accents – ironically I have had a C for years from my Russian language teacher because of my poor Russian accent…
So, apparently I couldn’t speak proper English, or Russian.
Fortunately, for me, my husband ran into met Andy at the Post-office and Bellevue where he told my husband about is work with actors and accent elimination. My husband knew that I always complained about not being able to get the accent right as he took down his information.
Andy does miracles with his work. He has a ton of patience for you and he loves his job. He doesn’t even call it “his job”; it’s his passion and hobby. What’s interesting about his techniques is that he understands the reasons associated with different cultures and their problems to pronounce various American words the “American Way”. Therefore, he can attack the problem at the root and really tell you where your problem areas are and work on them. He knows a lot about the physical technique of speaking but also a lot about the history and tradition of the English/American language so he can tell you “WHY” things appear the way they do rather than just repeating/drilling the same phrase. This is the “old” way that I remember the language learning process be taught in my school as a child.
Andy provides the first lesson for free. I had over an hour free session when I had to speak in Polish, in English with my “regular” accent and English with my “new” American accent.
My husband was amazed, I was amazed that I could even pronounce these words, sentences and make them sound the way I did.
Andy taught me how to pronounce words, putting emphasis on the first letter. He talked about English being like music with a certain rhythm to it. He explained how Americans speak, where they pause, when and why they speak slower, when they lower their voices and when to focus on long vowels.
Andy and I have had 6 lessons through Skype where he demonstrated lots of skill and patience. He has also given me lots of assignments/homework to speed up my learning process even more, and by working on some of these assigned tasks by myself I some money as well. I also think it is good to reflect upon what he taught me for a while and practice prior to taking on the next lesson. Obviously I still need to practice and work on it, but Andy showed me that I am capable of speaking with the English language with an American accent, “The American Way”. He gave me confidence and made me sound intelligent.
Andy gave me 2 additional lessons at no charge because he cares and because he loves what he does because he is the man.
He is a very warm, professional, skilled and honest individual and a FANTASTIC teacher. Yes, he does have a gift!!!!
Thanks a lot Andy!
Sincerely,
Gosia

Subject: My experience with Andy's coaching
Andy,
Before I met Andy, I took different coaching and classes to reduce my accent. Quite frankly, I learned a lot of technique but nothing really worked in the past. I was told what I need to
do to reduce my accent. However, I wasn't aware of what my issues were - my mouth's movement including the position of my tongue and lips. Also I was suggested to speak slowly. Yet
my previous teachers had not taught me what to do to slow down my pace of speaking.
I was very frustrated. What I found was that the traditional way of learning the accent reduction techniques didn't work for me. I am sure a lot of people from a foreign country can
relate this with me. The issue is that a lot of so called "expert" or "speech therapy" learned everything by the books. There is no creativity. And I was taught by the way they
learned from the books. I run an educational business and teach computer & technology to young children. To me, I teach young children how to use computer and understand technology,
which in turn, I learned a lot about what work and what didn't work in terms of learning and teaching. What works is first to have an awareness of the issues. What works is positive
encouragement. What works is to find or create a creative learning methods - think and do outside of the box. What works is interaction. What works is to practice
consistently. What works is to focus and be present.
With extensive research on my own, I finally found someone who can help me - Andy. His way of teaching fits perfectly what I am looking for - someone teach in non-traditional way and outside of
the box. His way of teaching is practical. He teaches actors how to reduce accents!!! Andy pointed out my accent issues and help me correcting them during our coaching sessions over
Skype. He developed a creative way to help someone like me to speak slowly - that's one of the most critical keys to reduce accents. Andy taught me how to "manipulate" or "control" the
movement of my mouth - another critical point to reduce accents. On each lesson, he encouraged me with a lot of positive feedback. I was suggested to practice what I learned with a
friend. My friend was very impressed how munch improvement I had in such a short period. She said I was more a lot more clear when I speak compared to the past. I have no doubt with
more and consistent practice that I could speak and communicate with little to no accents. All these I have to say thank you to Andy. Here is my experience and summary of Andy's
coaching.
His coaching is practical
His coaching is innovative
His coaching is interactive
His coaching is affordable
His coaching is flexible
His coaching is positive
Simply and frankly, Andy's coaching WORKS!!! Of course it requires you to focus and practice. I would definitely recommend Andy to anyone who is looking to reduce accent or learning
American accent when you are READY!!!
Sincerely,
Ken

Subject: Feedback
Hi Andy,
First, I was skeptical to have an accent reduction class through Skype.
Thanks
Sam

Subject: Thank you
Dear Andy,
I really want to thank you for this wonderful oppurtunity of knowing you and taking interest in me. The first time I talked to you on the phone gave me an impression of an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in speech. My impression was indeed right. The 10 sessions in accent reduction gave me more confidence in speaking the English language. The lessons you gave me in one hour tutorial each session provided me the time to learn how to position my lips and tongue in enunciating words. It was beneficial too in learning how to make pauses so as to get rid of the accent.
Instruction through Skype was never an obstacle to your systematic and practical ways of helping a person speak without an accent. For someone who considers English as their second or third language as in my case, this is amazing. It works.
I have gone through several learning experiences and looking back, I am more than happy that I decided to take your class. By the way, I just bought a computer software for learning the Spanish language and a teacher is willing to teach me the way you taught me. Looking forward to a new language. Thanks!

Andy,
I liked working with you on Skype. The quality of the sound was just great and it wasn't just that. You're a great teacher too. I like the quality of the picture too. What you told me about how to speak more slowly and down, it actually worked. I had a lot of fun. I also liked the positions you told me to do before saying a word. It worked a lot. Thank you.

Andy,
I've had four classes with you on skype and, I spoke the "new way" with a friend at work like you told me to do so. I said the same sentence just like I speak regularly first and then speaking just one or two words at the time. I then asked her if she noticed a difference and she said: "yes, I can heard you had a significant reduction of your accent the second time, when you spoke slowly".
It is hard to slow and really think about the correct positions of my tongue and lips but I think it worth it.
Thanks,
Maria Thompson

Sure:
“ I took all my classes using Skype and it works perfect, he was correcting me as soon as I was doing a mistake, he was putting the camera close to his mouth to be sure I was getting the right position of my tongue an lips.
Thank you Andy,
